More diversity, more innovation, more business
Gender diversity in entrepreneurship fuels economic growth, sparks innovation and drives social equity. Fresh perspectives unlock new markets with new business opportunities. Unfortunately, there are mainly two reasons why we don’t use this potential yet:
- There are more male than female entrepreneurs.
- We ask men to win and women not to lose.
A study of Columbia and Harvard Business Schools showed that investors ask male and female founders different questions in start-up funding rounds. This results in different funding outcomes due to an unconscious gender bias.
